As an example we will use Australia as
John orders a Smartkat Performance from www.smartkat.nz displayed on the website for 9299 New Zealand Dollars. As all prices are including 15% GST John arrives at the checkout page and fills in his address and to his surprise, the checkout shows a total amount of NZ$8086 + NZ$299 Shipping costs with a total of NZ$8385. What a bargain he thinks and proceeds followed by choosing one of the payment methods that he likes, either bank transfer, PayPal or a credit card method like VISA or Mastercard.
John’s order arrives at our warehouse and we send the shipment out for delivery to Australia. But John was lazy and did not read our shipment page or Terms and Conditions. We did inform John by e-mail about his shipment but he wasn’t too keen to read that either. That’s alright, no need to stress!
Once the package arrives in Australia John was required to pay his Taxes and Duties which he calculated on the Customs website. Unfortunately, we do not have any influence on this part of the shipment and the costs are for the official buyer of the product. After paying his duties to Customs John still ended up paying significantly less for his Smartkat boat then the people in New Zealand, just because of the fact Australia has a lower GST tax rate.
The shipment was delivered to John in Sydney and he is now sailing on one of our Smartkat boats along the shorelines of the beautiful Tasman sea in Australia. With his 30 months Warranty cover because he registered his boat online he can now enjoy what he likes doing most; Sailing!
